Halo 4 Game Type Label Guide

You can permit the use of different game types on your maps in Halo 4 by placing the appropriate objects on your map and assigning them the correct game type labels. You assign game type labels under the advanced tab of an object’s properties.

You will only have access to the game type labels of the game type that was selected in the Forge lobby before starting your Forge session.

The following guide will detail the various game type labels available in Halo 4. This guide is a work in progress and will be updated appropriately.

BASIC EDITING

Basic editing is only available in Forge and does not provide access to any game type labels.

CAPTURE THE FLAG

“Played with up to four teams, each of which has their own Flag. The goal of each team is to steal an enemy team’s Flag, while protecting their own. Once a team has grabbed a Flag, they must return it to their own capture point to score. Flag carriers are only able to use a Magnum or the Flag itself as a weapon.” -bsangel

“Teams are pitted against each other to capture, fortify and resupply bases to win. After infiltrating a base, a player can capture it for their team, whether it is a neutral base or a base previously claimed by the enemy. When a team has held a base for long enough, it will automatically fortify, defending itself with turret emplacements and energy shields. Holding a base earns teams points for each resupply, and provides teams with heavy ordnance drops and vehicles each supply cycle.” -bsangel

Each Dominion object corresponding to a Dominion base must have the same Spawn Sequence as that base’s Base Terminal. For example, base #1′s Base Terminal and Base Turret should both have a spawn sequence of 1, while base #2′s Base Terminal and Base Turret should both have a spawn sequence of 2.

As the extraction process occurs, teams must defend their beacon in order to prevent others from converting the existing extraction process into their own favor.” -bsangel
